Accreditation for Pharmacists

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Each activity provides .25 hours (0.025 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit.

Methods and Format

Each online activity consists of audio and corresponding slides for one presentation, a PDF download of the full CPE presentation, and an activity evaluation tool. To receive CPE credit, participants must listen to the presentation, read the full CPE presentation (PDF download), and attest to completion of the activity on the ASHP CE Center. Participants may print their official statements of CPE credit immediately following completion of each activity. The estimated time to complete each activity is 15 minutes. These activities are provided free of charge.

Target Audience

These continuing pharmacy education activities were planned to meet the needs of pharmacists who are interested in learning more about implementing antimicrobial stewardship programs in health-systems.

Activity Content

These activities were developed as part of a national educational initiative to improve antimicrobial use in health systems. Five health systems were selected through a competitive application process to participate in a unique mentorship designed to assist participants meet their antimicrobial stewardship improvement goals. The sites worked collaboratively with pharmacist mentors to evaluate their current antimicrobial stewardship practices and identify opportunities for improvement. The presentations below highlight the antimicrobial stewardship improvement projects conducted at each site, including pre- and post-intervention data measuring the effectiveness of these activities.
